GALIBOT: “Euch’mau Noir bis”, the Black Renaissance of the Northern Mines – melodic black metal

GALIBOT is a melodic black metal band — but it is also the name given to children who were sent to work in the mines of northern France. And for good reason, as the quintet hails from there.

Initiated in 2023 by Thomas, Agathe and Clément, the project, initially a studio project, aims to establish a parallel between the raw and visceral dark matter that is coal and black metal music. Wallers-Arenberg, the name of the town where the project was born and which bears the scars of the mining industry, was the demo for what was still only a trio.

In 2024, “Euch’mau Noir” — “The Black Devil” in Ch’ti — was released, an album portraying the North as the devil’s cradle, a harsh and infernal land.

At the beginning of 2026, GALIBOT invites you to (re)discover this work in a fully reimagined version: “Euch’mau Noir bis”, scheduled for release on Friday, February 20, 2026, via Les Acteurs de l’Ombre Productions.

This new edition revisits the imagery of the North, a land of dark legends and human tragedies. It brings forth miners shaped by the pits, villages scarred by disasters, and a multiculturalism whose ink stains the pages of Zola.

The six original tracks return transfigured through new arrangements, accompanied by a completely reworked mix and mastering at Minotaure Studio, delivering an even more massive sonic impact.

The tracklist is expanded with the return of “Schlamms”, an emblematic track from their demo, now entirely recomposed and re-recorded, and fully integrated into the definitive version of their debut album.

“Euch’mau Noir bis” was recorded, mixed, and mastered at Minotaure Studio under the direction of Julien Baquero.

Pre-orders are now open for the various editions of the album, which also features a complete visual overhaul by Tryfar, further reinforcing the project’s dark and assertive identity.
