Japanese metal band Esprit D’Air (fronted by Kai from The Sisters of Mercy, and featuring ex-Ghost drummer Vincent Velazco) released their new fourth studio album ‘Aeons‘ on November 7, 2025. Featuring fan-favorite singles ‘Chronos’ and ‘Silver Leaf’—both voted Best New Metal Track of the Week by Metal Hammer readers.
peaking about the concept, Kai says:
“Aeons is about time — how it can trap us, test us, and push us to the edge. These songs were written in a world that feels increasingly uncertain, where conflict, division, and crisis shape our lives. But within that darkness there’s still resilience, hope, and the possibility to begin again. The songs travel through themes of despair and struggle, but also resilience and hope, and a reminder that even in dark times, there’s a way forward.”
Esprit D’Air is led by guitarist and producer Kai, also a current member of The Sisters Of Mercy, with Vincent Velazco (ex-Ghost, Pendragon) on drums, Takeshi (ex-MergingMoon) on bass, and Yusuke on guitar.
Following their successful European tour across ten countries, performing at venues with capacities of up to 1,500, Esprit D’Air will also embark on a grassroots UK and Ireland tour from November 2025 in support of the Aeons album. Opting for more intimate venues, the band want to bring the new record to fans up close, capturing the raw energy of smaller shows. The tour will also include a rescheduled performance in Barcelona, which was originally postponed due to a national power outage.
While past albums included collaborations with guest artists such as Ben Christo (The Sisters Of Mercy), Ryo Kinoshita (ex-Crystal Lake, Knosis), Tim “Ripper” Owens (ex-Judas Priest, KK’s Priest), and Heavygrinder, Aeons represents a new chapter written and solely produced by the band.
They’re on the Faceboak.
