Harmonicon – three day Folk, Folklore, festival of esoteric disciplines

a three day festival of esoteric disciplines, connected by a shared imagination. Encompassing: stones, drones, folklore, walks and talks; the gathering brings a diverse connected web of practitioners from across these fields.

Throughout the three days we will be joined by musicians, artists, mystics, and writers. Including The Transcendence Orchestra (Surgeon and Dan Bean) who will be producing a unique piece for Harmonicon, which will close the weekend. There will also be contributions from the author David Keenan, musician Bridget Hayden and excitingly Jacqueline Anderson who will help us reflect upon sacred sites and ‘dancing for our ancestors.’ The festival will wander between a diverse selection of venues around Todmorden, from the grade 1 listed unitarian church (reportedly the most haunted in the uk) to the energetic Golden Lion, eclectic bar and venue Nan Moors and the renowned Folklore Centre.

Harmonicon is based in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, 30 mins from Manchester by train but in a different world. The town is a beacon for the unusual, situated in the centre of the UFO valley, it is steeped in folklore, myth and magic.

But what is a Harmonicon you ask? It is a harmonic instrument of stones, resonating and relating with each other. We wanted to use this philosophy for a gathering of interconnectivity, esoterics and putting the pieces together.
