Dive into Goth-Infused Hard Rock with Katone

Love can be a wild ride, can’t it? Katone explores this beautifully chaotic emotion in his new EP, Flesh And Fire. This collection dives deep into the exhilarating yet perilous dance of intimacy and passion, a theme that resonates with anyone who’s ever loved fiercely.

One of the most powerful emotions that moves humankind is love. Yet between deep intimacy, burning passion, and unconditional devotion runs a fine line fraught with risk and danger. This very tension forms the central motif of the new EP “Flesh And Fire” by U.S. musician, songwriter, and singer Katone.

Raised in Philadelphia, drummer Jimmy Katone —who performs under the succinct stage name “Katone”—has been turning heads worldwide for 40 years: first with the AOR band Hit The Ground Runnin’, founded in 1985, and later with Mason. With “Flesh And Fire“, he now unveils a stylistic fusion of dark rock, gothic, and hard rock.

Musically, Katone fuses Gothic elements with traditional hard rock and dark rock, while thematically “Flesh and Fire” is devoted entirely to passion. The opener and title track, “Flesh And Fire,” uses metaphor to depict an irresistible attraction and unconditional love that can swiftly slip into the destructive and inflict pain. Its brooding arrangement underscores the song’s lyrical intent.

The EP is released May 30.
