New Garfields Birthday album released

Yes, it’s finally happening, the first album of new material from the Felton brothers in 10 years is available to order now.  It’s called Next Stop Mars and you can grab your copy from Bandcamp, released on 1st November.  There are a limited number of CD copies available for those of you who like to be able to touch your music, as well as be touched by it, hopefully.  Shane and Simon take on equal writing duties, this time around, together with a couple of pop gems written by friend and founding-member, James Laming.

Many of these tracks have been gestating for years, with files bouncing backwards and forwards; the album inching closer to the finishing line with each new guitar and vocal part added.  Jealousy, obsession, mental health problems and alien abduction; it’s all here and we hope you feel it was worth the wait!

Finally, a reminder that Steve Wilson and Simon Felton will be playing a rare Weymouth gig in Vinolo next Saturday, 9th November.  It’s a new venue for us, so it would be great to see some friendly and familiar faces.  It’s a 7pm start, free entry, and if you get there early you might be able to grab my preferred table in the window, with a lovely view of the harbour.  Otherwise, you’ll have to make do with looking at us, or each other!
