With the single and accompanying music video “Higher Power,” Newton makes an impressive return, combining powerful rock music with a spiritual message that symbolizes hope and resilience, very much in the spirit of the dragon’s mythological power.
Created in collaboration with guitarist Markus Pfeffer, known from Lazarus Dream and Atlantis Drive, this song and its accompanying music video also involve drummer Jimmy Katone (Hit The Ground Runnin’), saxophonist Boris Matakovic (Human Zoo), and keyboardist Dave Slaat (Crowheart).
“Higher Power” is an energetic preview of Ritchie Newton’s forthcoming namesake album Higher Power. In addition to Iwan May on guitar, Dandy on drums, Dodi on bass, and Reyfan Lapaehe on keyboards, guitarists Hans Ziller and Frank Pané from Bonfire as well as Armin Sabol (Peter Schilling), have also contributed as special guests on the album.
Moreover, bassist Marco Mendoza, known from Thin Lizzy and Whitesnake, will be heard on this album. The accompanying music video, conceived and realized in collaboration with Newton’s own media production company Newton ArtworXX, will premiere along with the single of the same name on September 27, 2024, released via NRT-Records.
