THE THREE TREMORS
Live @ Bannermans, Edinburgh
12 February 2020
For shame, Edinburgh folk. Three actual legends of metal come to town and you can’t be arsed turning up. Granted, it was a cauld February night but when are you going to get the chance to see Tim “Ripper” Owens (Judas Priest, Iced Earth, Beyond Fear), Sean “Hell Destroyer” Peck (Cage, Denner-Sherman) and Harry Conklin (Jag Panzer) up close and personal. Never. That’s when. Eejits.
But that didn’t stop The Three Tremors turning in a top quality, professional performance of classic metal.
Harry Conklin, in particular, seems to be having the time of his life. And with Sean “Hell Destroyer” Pecks band Cage providing some brutal backing it was a night for horns aloft and headbanging. As you would expect there were plenty of tunes from their excellent album as well as solo turns from each of the singers. ‘Burn In Hell’ from Rippers under-rated spell with Judas Priest was a real treat and I certainly wasn’t expecting a barnstorming version of ‘Heaven and Hell’ by Black Sabbath.
They all seemed to really enjoy working with each other and with every piercing scream and double bass kick the crowd (as was) savoured some classic moments of metal.
Their debut album of classic power metal is well worth a listen and it’s also out as as a special edition. There’s only one more night of their UK tour left but they’re all set for a huge USA tour at the end of March. Don’t miss it.
