A roundup of some of the latest indie releases
GREEN ROCK RIVER BAND
Green Rock River Band release their new album Edgelands.
Following the successful release of the Green Rock River Band’s first album, ‘Rhinoceros’ (8/10 Americana UK, “Quite Extraordinary”, Mike Harding, BBC Radio 2 & Mike Harding Folk Show)
the band became very much in demand. They scored the feature length soundtrack to British apocalyptic comedy, The Fitzroy, and helped the film pick up two awards at SXSW festival in Austin Texas. They toured regional theatres across the UK and enjoyed radio play throughout Europe, the US and locally in the UK. They cemented their place as one of the UK’s leading Alt-Folk, Country bands.

PAUL K – OMERTA
Ashes in the Snow (Basilica Music) is the stunning new instrumental single from Paul K. An artist who Tony Visconti said
“….this is really beautiful music”.
As one half of Glitch Code, Paul Kirkpatrick delivered a noteworthy debut album in the form of ‘Gifted_Damaged’.
‘Omertà’ is the solo offering from Paul K – one half of Glitch Code. The album reflects a very different aspect of Kirkpatrick’s musical capabilities: this instrumental work is more cinematic, more calm, and while it’s not without pop worthy musical hooks, errs at times toward the more progressive end of the rock spectrum.

THE TUESDAY CLUB – ART IS MAGIC
7 years in, The Tuesday Club are now on the verge of releasing an unlikely album 3 – Art is Magic.

Literally half the band they started out as, now a 4 piece from the initial 8. From a hugely promising initial organic debut album – See you next Tuesday… they moved to their 2nd official release by way of a quadrilogy of 4 eps. Having played a fantastic promo tour for ep1 my consciousness, the TCs were literally rocked and almost derailed by the tragic death of drummer Terry Super Cockell, the subsequent releases were put out in a daze and not with a little help from dep drummers until the arrival of Current sticks man Blairski. The good ship ship Rocked and tilted violetly following the penultimate ep release lady gargar and subsequent defection of Bass, vocals and guitars but somehow steadied leaving the current 4 piece to regroup and begin work on their ‘comeback’ Art is Magic
“The Tuesday Club are synth punk pop at its catchiest if you’re thinking about Blondie and Roxy Music you’re on the right track… it’s infectious and uplifting” – Vive Le Rock
DEAD GROUND – No Thoughts, No Tears
Dead Ground begin their full scale assault on the UK music scene with the release their new EP No Thoughts, No Tears.
Formed out of their frustration with a music scene blotted with the superficial, Dead Ground set out to instill a buzz in every member of their audience with a sharp, in- your-face blend of bare-knuckle rock and raw, delicate atmosphere.
The lead track from the EP is Small Love and you can see the video link at :

SHAUN KELLY – The Boy on the Bench
The Boy on the Bench is the brand new album from Shaun Kelly and the Returned Gifts. (Sleep Now Records)
You can hear the album in full at :

Singer/songwriter Shaun Kelly leads this new collective of musicians emerging from the ashes of the indie B-town scene in the heart of the UK. They have been collaborating on new sounds that mix elements of west coast guitar pop with classic British melodic agendas… along with anything else that springs to mind.
The debut single ‘Debt of silence’ came from nowhere and instantly made single of the week on the James Whale Radio Show. Indigo is the latest single taken from the debut collection by Shaun Kelly and the Returned Gifts. Currently receiving National BBC radio airplay.
LOVER – Human Geography
Supported by BBC6 Music’s Steve Lamacq, Fallen Famous is the current single from Lover (Released via Make My Day)
The can see the video to the single at :

Taken from the album Human Geography, it continues the upward path from the London six piece. 2018 is the year Lover decide whether you’re allowed to be a part of their world or not. With a morbid longing for the picturesque at all costs – are you ready to explore life no one thought could exist outside literature? Where dissatisfaction is bohemian and vaguely Marxist in origin, Lover are here to show you the beauty in the darkness.
