A successful 2017 saw Nick release his debut EP ‘Through The Tall Grass’ . A 5-song offering from Nick Byrne, a singer, guitarist and songwriter from Buckinghamshire, England performing ‘atmospheric and dreamy folk’,
as seen supporting the likes of Declan McKenna, Adam Barnes and The Lion & The Wolf.
Driven by a desire to create something lasting and beautiful, songs, various lyrical symbols work their way onto the 5-song offering, many based on distinct visual memories.

Aylesbury Sound & Vision Magazine
“The dreamy ‘Half’ is finger picking folk goodness”

Songs range from finger-picked folk to more layered pieces, accented by strings and slide guitar. The blissful folk of ‘Birch Tree’ tells of a pact between two lovers and portrays a conversation between present and past.
After a background working with bands as a musician and as a graphic designer, Nick started performing live and writing songs as a solo musician. Balancing a career and music has been a delicate act, but in early 2015 Nick took a break from the live circuit and started recording his first EP, working with long-time friend and producer Alasdair Thompson at his home studio in Ealing, London. Another friend and collaborator, Richard Melkonian composed the string arrangement, recorded at Pink Bird Studios, East London – completing the blissful and atmospheric sound of the EP.
Nick’s passion for music began learning electric guitar at age 13, immersing himself in many styles of alternative music. Growing up with a Chilean mother and Irish father has kept his mind open to different styles of music, as has being involved in the independent music scene. A re-discovery of Jeff Buckley’s ‘Grace’ album, Damien Rice’s ‘O’ and Iron and Wine’s ‘Our Endless Numbered Days’ were key influences as Nick started to progress as a songwriter.
With his live performance, the music takes on an emotive, intimate tone, as seen supporting the likes of Adam Barnes, Spring Offensive & The Lion & The Wolf.
