Love is A Hard Time.
This track was originally released in 1981 as part of the Jungle Law album. Produced by the legendary Chris Thomas (Sex Pistols, Roxy Music, Beatles, Pink Floyd, Pretenders, Pulp) Philip’s label RDJ Recordings
will be releasing the entire album on CD and Download next March.
The 4th track This Modern Age is a previously unheard recording originally intended as a follow up to Dem Eyes, Philip’s first solo single for Chrysalis Records which was in released in 1975, after the breakup of The Winkies. . Recorded at Wessex Studios, the band features Blair Cunningham Drums, Dave Cochran Bass, Robert Johnson Lead Guitar, Blue Weaver Keyboards. Chrysalis’ refusal to release this and the other
session tracks was the start of the breakdown of Philip’s relationship with the label which eventually lead him to leave and move to EMI, where he recorded 2 solo albums Shooting Gallery (
RDJ157006) and Jungle Law (on RDJ March 2018).
Look out for Festival and local gigs from next March.
Philip Rambow Band
with Paul Cuddeford, Martin Belmont, Gary Liedeman and Alex Marchisone.
