Pink Hedgehog News Special

One of the few good things about becoming recently unemployed, is having more time to spend on my music.  So, sooner than expected, I am as pleased as punch to share the news that my latest album is now available to order from my Bandcamppage.  Amazingly, some of you have already done so, and for that I am sincerely grateful!  I’ll give you the link, then tell you more about it:

This is the final album in my therapeutic trilogy that began with Emotional Feedback(2015) and continued with last year’s Return to Easton Square.  American poet and songwriter Stephen John Kalinich makes a guest appearance on the album-closer ‘The Measure of all Things’.  Stevie has collaborated in the past with both Brian and Dennis Wilson, as well as Pink Hedgehog artist Peter Lacey.  His contribution here means an awful lot to me and is one of the coolest things I’ve ever done, creatively speaking.  Around half of the songs are new and some are re-worked ideas from the vaults.  One was written by my friend and former band-partner James Laming, and another by my friend and current bandmate Steve Wilson.

Some of you may have spotted that Topsy Turvy was the intended title of the next Garfields Birthday album.  Well, after two years of working on it, I’ve realised that geography and life have conspired against us for the time being.  However, there will be a new GB album soon enough and it will almost certainly be the best thing we’ve ever done.  As always, thanks for supporting me and the label.  I hope that you will get some pleasure from listening to this new collection of songs, and I welcome your thoughts and comments on this final installment of my musical therapy sessions.

Love Simon x.
