Chris Slade is officially the (old) new drummer for AC/DC.

Slade released a statement on Saturday confirming his return.

This is an amazing opportunity for me, after all most people don’t ever get to play with their favourite band once, let alone TWICE! I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support I have been shown personally, on the Facebook page and other social media, not one comment has gone unread and it has been very humbling, Thanks so much. We apologise for the secrecy, please understand this was for all the right reasons.

He also posted the following picture to his official Facebook page with the caption “Under OLD Management”.

AC/DC

Slade originally played drums for the band from 1989 to 1994, playing on the album The Razor’s Edge. His long list of artists with which he’s played include Tom Jones, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, the Firm and Asia.

Meanwhile Phil Rudd has parted ways with the lawyer representing him on several charges, including “threatening to kill,” prompting a New Zealand court to delay his scheduled appearance. The beleaguered musician was due in the Tauranga District Court next week, but now won’t see a judge until April.
