Jimmy RuffinBest known for his Motown smash hit single in 1966 What Becomes of the Broken Hearted has sadly passed away, aged 78.

Ruffin was born on the 7th of May 1936 in Collinsville, Mississippi, and in the early 60s moved to Detroit, and signed to Motown’s Miracle label, and in 1964 was offered the chance to join the Temptations. However after hearing his younger brother David, they hired him instead and Jimmy returned to his solo career, and moved to the United Kingdom in the 80s

A family statement said that he was “a rare type of man who left his mark on the music industry. We will treasure the many fond and wonderful memories we all have of him.”
