The MuseBox today announced that Norway’s The Well premiered their newest video for their debut single “Separate Ways” today with PopMatters. On October 20, The Well will release the single courtesy of indie label Conflict of Interest. The young six-piece, consisting of six young men 17 to 22 years old, have drawn comparisons to Coldplay and Arcade Fire with their powerful vocals and melodic guitars and synths: “The Well’s music is big, emotive, and heart-warming.” (MusicWeek.com) More information on The Well is available on the band’s official website.

According to music blog SoSoGay.co.uk, “The Well are in fact a rather cute new boy band from Norway whose lovely radio-friendly balladry may just see them propelled to household name status.” Born and raised on the west coast of Norway just outside the buzzing city of Bergen, The Well are Influenced by music from both the past and the present, including acts such as Arcade Fire and Haim to The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.

The Well’s bond formed early, as the group grew up together and went to the same school. The seed of an idea led to the guys forming a band with little experience of playing instruments. Fast forward to 2006. The young men started their first gigs around Norway, and in 2012 were spotted by seasoned Norwegian music manager, Geir Luedy, of MADE, one of Scandinavia’s leading music management agencies. Seeing their raw potential, Geir took The Well under his wing. The resulting epic pop conjured up memories of fellow Scandinavians A-ha.

Confident but vulnerable, The Well is a band that dreams big. Their first single, “Separate Ways,” is a bold confessional story of heartbreak. Big, emotive and heart-warming,  it embodies everything that is good about The Well.
