Stunning/songwriter, Alla Ray, injects exuberant excitement and vitality into dancefloors this summer as she releases her incredible second single, ‘The Race’ on September 22. Following hot on the heels of her debut track, ‘On Fire’ earlier this year, which was a No.5 club chart smash, ‘The Race’ is already causing a stir in clubland and with just two weeks of promotion it was boasting air plays on Capital, Kiss and Gaydio
Featuring the almighty Brit rapper, Sneakbo (‘Ring-A’Ling’, ‘Zim Zimma’, ‘The Wave’), The Race is a vibrant, hi-energy dance/pop fusion with anthemic hands-in-the-air electronica vocals. The track delivers a sensational slice of dance heaven that’s proving to have the ability to straddle dance floor and radio play in equal measure. A lyrical collaboration with Alla Ray, Grace Tither (Denmark/Manchester), Sam Bonner (London) and Alex Elliot (London), the track was recorded in London’s Tileyard Studios. The enviable remix line-up includes Mike Delinquent, TS7, Mike Rizzo, Andi Durrant, Starkillers, DCM – securing a sound that fits hand-in-glove across all club sounds.
If that wasn’t enough, the video depicts an epic action-packed tale of the race against suitors fighting to be the first to win Alla Ray’s heart. Dare-devil, jaw-dropping parkour and free-running stunts pump adrenalin excitement through the ‘The Race’, bringing the sound of this hi-energy track into full pictorial vision.
Take one look at Alla’s sparkling blue eyes and radiant ruby-red hair and you’ll see that this girl was born to perform. No surprise as her mother was a ballerina who exposed Alla to the theatrical limelight before she was even born. Her dad was a genius Russian scientist who had the genius ability to build radio equipment that could pick up British and American airwaves. Suddenly the family home was being exposed to Western pop culture such as George Michael, Elton John and the Beetles and Alla’s childhood aspirations of being a Jazz singer like her early idols of Ella Fitzgerald and Nina Simone became mixed with a splash of pop. Alla began to learn and soak-up on-stage influences from rock giants like Freddie Mercury and Robert Plant. The chemistry of Jazz and rock/pop greats was electrifying and created the unique sound that Alla Ray delivers today. And Alla never forget her musical roots, which is why she adopted her second name ‘Ray’ in homage to the mighty Ray Charles, who first gave her a love of music.
Alla Ray is the complete package – a born performer whose sole intention is to ignite passion in her audiences. A musical fire-cracker who’s creating blinding sparks – the race is on!
The single ‘The Race’ is released September 22 on Hot Beat Records
