BGT Jonathan Antoine debut solo album – Tenore out October 13th

Jonathan Antoine, the 19 year old tenor who burst onto the scene in 2012 and became a worldwide sensation after his remarkable appearance on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, is proud to announce his debut solo album ‘Tenore’, released on October 13th on Sony Classical.  The album is produced by multi-Grammy  nominated music producer,  Anna Barry, famous for her work with Andrea Bocelli,  Jose Carreras, the Kirov Opera  and Andrew Lloyd Webber,  to name but a few.

This eagerly-anticipated solo album follows two hugely successful albums with former singing partner, Charlotte Jaconelli and a sold-out UK tour.  Now Jonathan has decided that the time is right for him to pursue a solo career and therefore this album marks an important new stage in the young singer’s life:  “We had a most amazing journey together, but the time is right now to explore different musical paths. We’re very happy for each other”, he remarks with his customary generosity.

‘Tenore’ is the perfect vehicle for the passion Jonathan clearly feels for this repertoire and his extraordinary natural talent is evident throughout.

Of some of the repertoire choices, Jonathan notes: “I have chosen ‘La donna e mobile’ from Verdi’s Rigoletto as the opera is such huge fun!  I was first introduced to it by Sara Reynolds, my teacher from The Junior Royal Academy Of Music, so it has wonderful associations for me.   I have been singing ‘Panis Angelicus’ ever since the age of 13.  I was taught it by Jenny Ewington, my very first singing teacher, so it has extra special meaning for me.   Just to ring the changes, I have included ‘Love Changes Everything’ on the album and I can’t wait for you to hear it!”

Jonathan’s solo career has had an exciting start in America.   Earlier this year, he performed at the Mohammed Ali Celebrity Fight Night in Arizona where leading pop producer, David Foster (Michael Jackson, Celine Dion, Josh Grobin) was Music Director. Jonathan received a standing ovation from an audience full of Academy Award-winning actors, Grammy award-winning musicians and professional athletes.  This led to him being invited by David Foster to join one of the biggest global conferences in the USA at the Milken Institute, California where Jonathan wowed the star-studded audience to their feet plus a further performance in Orlando, Florida where he shared the stage with Sting, Ne-Yo and Adam Levine of Maroon 5.

“There’s only one way to express what music gives me. It gives me a purpose. It gives me point. When I sing, I can just be me”, says Jonathan.
