Draw release the single Alone Again Or to raise money for the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland.
Originally formed back in 2000 the band went on to play 150 gigs across the UK in 3 years. Evolved through 6 studios before eventually arriving at Castlesound, Scotland’s top studio.
What followed was amazing…
3 single releases.
35 – 40 million video spins combined on MTV2 and Kerrang TV before the days of bots.
Airplay on 80 Regional UK stations.
Draw were ‘Radio 1’s Session in Scotland ‘Live Band of the Year’ – 2002
Draw were then invited to be support band for legendary Arthur Lee and LOVE’s Forever Changes 3 week 2003 UK tour. A once in a lifetime opportunity for a tour which The Sunday Times described as ‘The UK Tour of the Decade’.
Following the LOVE tour, a few months later one of the Draw band members chose to embrace a lifestyle at the other extreme to that of rock’n’roll. Headline slot T-in-The-Park, and everything else in the pipeline (including forthcoming Alone Again Or single release) was cancelled. The band and label subsequently tried evolving with other musicians, but things were never ever the same again.
Alone Again Or has sat in the archives of Empire Records Scotland for the last 11 years. We’re delighted to get it out there into the public domain, and all for such a wonderful cause as CHAS.
