AC/DC news – ex member, Malcolm Young hospitalised / new album pending

Angus & Malcolm YoungAC/DC singer Brian Johnson has confirmed that founding member Malcolm Young has been hospitalized.

In an interview with Classic Rock Johnson confirmed that the guitarist is undergoing the best medical care. “We miss Malcolm obviously. He’s a fighter. He’s in hospital but he’s a fighter. We’ve got our fingers crossed that he’ll get strong again,” Brian said.

AC/DC announced the departure of Malcolm Young in April after tabloid gossip spread that the band had broken up.

The 15th AC/DC album has been completed and Brian Johnson says they considered the title Man Down as a possible title as a tribute to Malcolm Young.

Young, the co-founder of the band with his brother Angus, left the band due to illness just prior to the start of the recording.  AC/DC recruited Stevie Young, the nephew of Angus and Malcolm, to fill in for Malcolm. Stevie performed once before in place of Malcolm while Malcolm was in rehab.
