André Rieu’s 10th Anniversary 2014 Maastricht Concert to be screened in cinemas via satellite

on SATURDAY 19TH JULY for ONE NIGHT ONLY!

 

André Rieu – one of the most popular live acts in the world – announces alongside – CinemaLive – André Rieu’s 10th Anniversary 2014 Maastricht Concert.  As part of a worldwide cinema event, this magnificent concert will be delivered to 350 cinemas via satellite across the UK & Ireland on Saturday 19th July, including Odeon, Cineworld and Vue theatres. Outside of the UK & Ireland, the event will be shown on over 1000 cinema screens in 35 countries worldwide including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, The Netherlands, Germany, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand.

The cinema event will be hosted by British television presenter Charlotte Hawkins who will be co-presenting ITV’s new morning show Good Morning Britain from the 28th April.  As always, Charlotte will be interviewing André immediately after his performance as an exclusive for cinema audiences.

To help celebrate the 10th Anniversary of André’s traditional summer evening concerts, staged on the most romantic city square in The Netherlands: the Vrijthof in Maastricht, his fans will be treated to one of the most extraordinary concerts of the year from the comfort of their local cinema, as the maestro puts on a magnificent spectacle during this very special anniversary edition of his much-loved concerts.

The King of Waltz – will be working his magic to present an unforgettable evening full of humour, music and emotion for every age.  The dramatic and alluring medieval square will be transformed into a romantic open-air concert, featuring André and his famous 60 piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, along with many famous guest artists, soloists, light shows and spectacular fireworks.

André said: “My 10th Anniversary hometown concert is very dear to my heart and I wish everyone could be here to help us celebrate.  However, if you can’t join us in Maastricht, I hope I can touch your heart by bringing this special evening to you, on the big screen in your local cinema.”

Last July’s cinema event broke UK box office records by gaining the highest verified opening weekend gross (£448,786 Source: Rentrak) for an Artist’s music concert released into cinemas.  The concert grossed over £1,500,000 worldwide over a series of ‘one night only’ releases in over 25 countries.
