BARRY WHITE
Can’t Get Enough
Audio Fidelity
It’s amazing how my testosterone level has went through the roof since laying these grooves on my record player. I even ended up with a swagger inmy walk, not detected since the heady days of my late teens. And it’s all due to this immense rerelease of one of Barry Whites best albums.
Nowadays, there is a tendency to see the Walrus of Love as a bit of a joke, but he was huge in the seventies. Um, you know what I mean. Popular. Very. This was his third album, release in 1974, and one that featured in Rolling Stones 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. And rightly so. It soared to Number 1 in the Billboard charts, with the singles, ‘Can’t Get Enough of Your Love, Babe’ and ‘You’re the First, the Last, My Everything’ reaching 1 and 2 respectively in the US singles chart.
He rarely leaves his mellow, love man groove, but when he stretches out the luxuriant ‘I Can’t Believe You Love Me’ beyond the ten minute mark, it’s impossible not to be drawn into his string drenched world. Of course, it’s ‘You’re The First, The Last, My Everything’ that tops everything, and on this limited edition 180gm double vinyl gatefold sleeve release, it has never sounded better. The music oozes out of the enhanced grooves, sounding a thousand times fuller than I remember it.
Snap this up while you can, light some candles, put on your silk pj’s and wait for the lurve to come.
