Cherry Lee MewisPhew, where do we begin?!

November has been a pretty manic month, and it’s not over yet! Cherry’s been out on the road with Bernie Marsden, recording the new album, guesting with Del Bromham of Stray at Birmingham Symphony Hall opening for Mott The Hoople, oh and also fit in a performance at Bluesfest at the Royal Albert Hall! Phew!

BluesFest went very well indeed and Cherry and her band performed to a very appreciative audience that demanded two encores. Cherry also got to meet and hang out with Mick Taylor and they got to witness Ronnie Wood’s soundcheck in the main Hall which was going on minutes before they hit the stage themselves in the Cafe Consort. Says Cherry, “Wow what a day we had. We all had a total blast and i’d never been to the Albert Hall before so it was pretty special to finally get there and play there too! Not lying, would have loved to have jumped onto that main stage though! One day i’ll get on it! Huge thanks to the guys at Live Nation and the BluesFest team for asking us to be a part of this growing festival. Huge thanks to our audience too who stayed with us right through to the end of our set. despite other performances going on. Onwards and upwards!”

Two weeks ago, Cherry was special guest onstage of Del Bromham & Stray, of who’s new album she’s on, where they opened for Mott The Hoople on the first night of their sell out tour at Birmingham Symphony Hall to a crowd of over 2000 happy rock and rollers! The rest of the week saw Cherry guesting with Bernie ‘Whitesnake’ Marsden on three of his only UK dates left this year at Wolverhampton, Derby and rounding off with a sold out show at The Stables in Wavendon, Milton Keynes last Sunday. Cherry is also on Bernie’s new album, Shine which is out next March and will see a bigger tour taking place featuring Cherry.

Cherry is back in the studio working on album number four! Reports are that it’s going extremely well and Cherry and Max are still writing new songs so early stages but four tracks have been recorded so far. Expect the new release Spring 2014 and this album is definitely heading into new musical territories so hold onto your seats, this is going to be one hell of a journey!

There’s still time to catch Cherry live before 2013 comes to a close, take a look below at remaining dates for this year. Please note that the Harrogate gig which should have been this Saturday 30th November, has been rescheduled to next June due to Andy the promoter suffering a stroke. We wish Andy a speedy recovery.

You can do so right here and if you wouldn’t mind requesting Cherry to Bob Harris too, right here, also Jools Holland on BBC Radio 2 here while you’re at it! Every email helps. Thank you for helping spread the Cherry sound and that all important link to order the new EP Cherry Pickin’ if you haven’t done so yet, is right here.
