Hornet

Well if you’re going to sound like anyone, then a mash up of AC/DC and Twisted Fuckin’ Sister will do just nicely. And that’s what you’re getting from young Brit rockers Hornet.

So I like it. They’ve gone the Pledge Music route to pony up some cash for theire debut album and if this raucous blast of fiery rock and roll is what’s in store, then it should go rather nicely for them. The album is called “Skies Are Falling”, and if you cock some ears at this tune then you’ll be cosying up to Joe Thompson (vocals), Tollef Rikje-Pearson (guitar), Max Thompson (bass) and Alex Burt (drums) a bit sharpish.

They’ve got both kinds of music – rock and roll – if the B-sides are anything to by, so jump on this bandwagon sharpish.

Crash Mansion Money

Hmmm. Crash Mansion are a five-piece act from South Essex who put out their debut EP last year. I haven’t heard that, but if this metal-lite is anything to go by, I didn’t miss much.

See, when the riff kicks in, it’s all rather good in a mainstream, modern metal kind of way, but the vocals are too lightweight for the guitars, and it just doesn’t amount to very much. If you saw them perform an acoustic set at Download Festival on the Jagermeister Stage this year, you probably saw the direction they should take, cos this just ain’t hard enough.
