Brace Yourself For Sadism, Cruelty And Violence In The Infamous “Horrors Of The Black Museum”

From the producer of I Was a Teenage Werewolf and presented in terrifying Hypnovista, cult horror classic Horrors Of The Black Museum is set for its UK home entertainment release on 24 June 2013.

Michael Gough gives a compelling performance in this notorious 1959 horror laden with sensationalistic, sexually charged violence. This film is presented in a brand new transfer from the original film elements in its original cinema aspect ratio.

Shot at the UK’s Merton Park studios in the then relatively new CinemaScope format, Horrors Of The Black Museum was the first in what has been dubbed Anglo-Amalgamated’s ‘Sadian trilogy’ (with Circus of Horrors and Peeping Tom following).

A series of grisly, macabre and seemingly motiveless murders leaves Scotland Yard baffled, leading crime writer and journalist Edward Bancroft (Michael Gough) to follow events with particular interest. When it is discovered that a young man, Rick, is being motivated to commit the murders under hypnosis, it also becomes clear that his mystery mentor is delighting in the Yard’s embarrassment.

Horrors Of The Black Museum is the 50s exploitation film at its very best and was a huge box office triumph making over $1 million in the US alone (the equivalent of circa $10 million in today’s money).
