Devil’s Dance
Rookies & Kings 2013

They say that their music is 100% Pure Rock ‘N’ Roll. Which is a lie. The band comprise Dick Dropkick on lead vocals and guitar, Johnny Jailbreak on bass and Nikk Nitro on drums. I strongly suspect that those are not their real names. So far, so bad. They’re getting themselves a reputation for being strangers to the truth. Which, kids, is a bad thing. However, this is a bloody good album, so I think I’ll let them off. For now.
What these fun loving Germans are doing is mixing up some rock’n’roll, some AC/DC, some Motorhead and some Molly Hatchet. Which makes me a very happy man, indeed. For sure, they don’t have an original bone in their body, but when they swagger their way through top choons like ‘City Of The Sinners’, ‘Take The Throne’ and ‘King Kerosin’ you really don’t care. Especially when the band proclaim, “Imagine the smell of gasoline, blaring out of the speakers decent rock ‘n’ roll on the back seat and sit back and enjoy the girls”.
Sometimes they get a bit more up to date, but no further than eighties Motley Crue. So if you’re looking for your biker party soundtrack for this summer, “Devil’s Dance” is the one for you.
